Introducing Lynnea Holmstrom

Lynnea Holmstrom, is a remarkable 12 year old artist from the Osoyoos Indian band. Her preferred mediums for expressing her unique perspective on indigenous culture and environmental issues include acrylic painting and digital art. With a heart dedicated to nature and the environment, Lynnea Infuses her art with a passion for conservation.
Lynnea recently attended and completed a summer art program at Emily Carr University Junior Arts Institute (JAI) in 2024 where she was the youngest in her class.
Lynnea's watercolour of the ‘Warrior’ won the 2024 FORD BC Indigenous & Native American Traditional Knowledge & Medicine Contest. The artwork represents the four elements and the Indigenous connection to nature and animals. The colours were chosen to showcase the Northern Lights. The blue wings represent protecting the water and her connection to her Indigenous name and ancestors.
Aside from her artwork Lynnea also has a wide range of interests, from completing her Yoga Nidra Teaching Certificate in 2022 to winning a Gold Medal in 3D Archery in BC Provincial and Archery Canada in 2023.
